About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Magento Developer to join our team as a remote 1099 contractor. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on expertise in Magento (preferably Magento 2), strong eCommerce development experience, and the ability to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions independently.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, customize, and maintain Magento-based eCommerce websites.
  • Build and optimize custom modules, extensions, themes, and integrations.
  • Maintain and improve existing codebases, ensuring performance, scalability, and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, product owners, and QA to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Troubleshoot, resolve, and document technical challenges and system issues.
  • Ensure code quality through best practices, testing, and peer reviews.
  • Stay updated with Magento trends, security updates, and best practices.


Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of full-time development experience with Magento (Magento 2 strongly preferred).
  • Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of Magento architecture, custom module development, APIs, and performance optimization.
  • Experience working with eCommerce integrations (payment gateways, shipping APIs, ERP/CRM tools).
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Must currently reside in the United States.
  • Must be legally authorized to work as a 1099 independent contractor.
  • NOT an I-140 visa holder.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.


Preferred Skills

  • Magento certifications (Developer, Architect, or Commerce).
  • Experience with DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, or cloud hosting platforms.
  • Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, etc.).
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices for eCommerce.
